DJI Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine drones with Four Thirds sensors introduced

DJI Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine drones with Four Thirds sensors introduced

DJI has unveiled a couple of new top-of-the-line drones: the Mavic 3 and the Mavic 3 Cine. The models are expensive, but they also offer a lot.

Drones practically do not differ from each other, so initially we will talk about them as one product. So, the drones has received two cameras. The first is based on a large 20MP Four Thirds image sensor and a 24mm lens. The second one relies on a 12-megapixel 1/2 format sensor with a focal length of 162 mm, thanks to which the optical zoom is almost seven times, and the hybrid is already 28 times. All of this was created in conjunction with Hasselblad.

There is also Natural Color Solution, which provides natural colors initially from the camera without processing. Cameras are mounted on a three-axis stub.

The drone is capable of shooting in 4K at 120 fps and taking photos at 20 megapixels. The batteries should last for 46 minutes of flight. The Mavic 2 had 31 minutes, so the update is substantial. The signal transmission range reaches 15 km. Video streaming is available in Full HD at 60 fps.

The new drone is equipped with an omnidirectional obstacle detection system at a distance of up to 200 meters. Of course, there are all the usual functions, such as returning home, automatically flying around obstacles, tracking an object, and so on.

In terms of differences between drones, the Mavic 3 can shoot in H.264 / H.265 at 200Mbps, while the Cine supports Apple ProRes 422HQ and is capable of 5.1K video. At the same time, there is a 1 TB SSD, since such a video takes up a lot of space.

The base version is priced at $ 2,200 in the US excluding taxes, while the Mavic 3 Cine is already asking for an incredible $ 5,000. But in this case, you will have to overpay not only for ProRes and SSDs. The Cine comes with a much richer kit, including a DJI RC Pro controller, four NDs, and a Fly More Combo kit with two extra batteries, a charging hub, bag, a set of other NDs, and four sets of interchangeable blades. You can also buy the Mavic 3 with the Fly More Combo kit for $ 3,000.
