MaxSun unveils the world’s first RTX 4090 with five fans and a magnetic screen

MAXSUN UNVEILS THE WORLD'S FIRST RTX 4090 WITH FIVE FANS AND A MAGNETIC SCREEN

It is extremely difficult for manufacturers of the new generation NVIDIA RTX 40 graphics cards to justify such a high price in the eyes of buyers, so big brands are focusing on better cooling and overclocking of the GPU, and smaller companies have to get out. For example, the Chinese company MaxSun, which has been gradually gaining momentum in the global market lately, has introduced a completely unique RTX 4090 MGG graphics card, which instantly attracts attention due to the design of the cooling system. The fact is that the manufacturer decided to place five fans at once in one video card – this is a unique case, because earlier brands stopped at four fans in the cooling system.

The manufacturer decided to bet not on the performance of the novelty, but on decorative elements. It might work

At the same time, the lion’s share of the cooling of the RTX 4090 MGG is implemented in a completely classic format – a large aluminum heatsink is installed on top of the printed circuit board with a graphics processor and memory chips (due to its dimensions, the heatsink fins extend beyond the board), on which a decorative shroud with fans is placed.

Three of them have a diameter of about 100 millimeters, which is standard for such video card sizes, and they are directed directly to the aluminum radiator – they are responsible for cooling the system. But in addition, the manufacturer placed two very small fans with a diameter of about 2-3 centimeters on the end side of the decorative casing.

The company explained that the three main fans in the cooling system are responsible for supplying cold air to the radiator fins, while two small additional fans allow hot air to be expelled from the system, thereby improving the temperature regime. However, given their diameter, there is no hope for a noticeable drop in temperature, and the company did not provide tests, so this is more of a decorative element. But the engineers decided not to stop there – they also implemented a removable RGB display, which is installed on two magnetic platforms, provides the ability to customize the displayed content (you can add any text or graphics) and is charged from USB Type-C.

Naturally, all this does not affect the performance of the video card in any way, so MaxSun decided to slightly pump the RTX 4090 MGG – for this, the GPU is overclocked from the factory to a clock frequency of 2580 MHz. This is 2.4% more than the reference model, that is, the increase is not so significant, plus the specifications indicate that the board is designed for a maximum TDP of 450 W, that is, with a high degree of probability, it will make changes to the power limits problematic or impossible.

The only problem with the novelty is that usually the RTX 4090 MGG can only be sold on the local market – this, of course, does not mean that it cannot be ordered on AliExpress, but it still affects availability.
