24 CORES, RTX 4090 AND THE WORLD'S THINNEST LSS: LENOVO INTRODUCED THE LEGION 9I GAMING LAPTOP

Today, August 22, Lenovo officially unveiled its latest Legion 9i gaming laptop, which is likely to satisfy any gamer who needs a portable solution. The fact is that the performance of this device is based on the flagship mobile processor Intel Core i9-13980HX (this is the most productive “stone” on the mobile market) and the RTX 4090 video card (for a mobile platform, this is not a desktop version) with 16 GB of internal video memory. This is the most powerful processor and graphics configuration available in the notebook market.

Naturally, in order to place all this productive hardware, and then also effectively cool it, the manufacturer had to work hard – especially considering that the laptop received a fairly thin case of 18.9 mm. To ensure that the system does not overheat during peak loads, the manufacturer decided to integrate an advanced closed-type liquid cooling system into the laptop. This means that the LSS is located inside the laptop and cannot be serviced, since the circuit is closed and functions independently. But this is not an ordinary liquid cooling system, but the thinnest LSS in the world – only thanks to this, the laptop was kept so thin.

Lenovo representatives said that their liquid cooling system is also very smart – a pump that drives liquid through the coolant tubes will turn on only if the laptop heats up to a temperature of 84 ° C. In idle time, the pump will not work, so as not to waste its resource and not to spoil the owner’s nerves with a hum from the case, but, on the other hand, laptops of the same line that are simpler in terms of hardware without LSS can heat up to 70 ° C in idle time, so the pump can run without games – especially on hot days. At the same time, it was not without fans either – there are three of them and they also participate in the cooling of the system.

The laptop’s RAM is represented by 32 GB DDR5-5600 modules, there will be two such modules in the manufacturer’s configurator, so if you wish, you can get 64 GB of RAM with a fairly high clock speed. Content storage space is represented by two M.2 SSDs that can be customized (or choose a configuration with a single drive, and then add memory yourself), and the battery was pleased with a capacity of 99.9 Wh. The laptop also received a 16.3-inch IPS display with 2K resolution and a refresh rate of up to 165 Hz.

Unfortunately, neither the release date nor the cost of the laptop has been announced by Lenovo yet, but the laptop, judging by the information of the reviewers, should appear on the shelves very soon.
