Tesla resumes production in Shanghai, forbidding employees to leave the plant

Tesla managed to resume production in Shanghai, despite a tough lockdown imposed by local authorities, Bloomberg writes , citing sources. At the moment, due to the coronavirus outbreak in Shanghai, it is forbidden to move around the city, so Tesla employees will live right at the factory, while observing a number of restrictions.

The situation is aggravated by the fact that the plant does not provide living conditions, for example, there is no hostel, so the plant staff will receive a sleeping bag and a mattress from the management, which can be placed in a specially designated place.

At the same time, the management of the plant is promptly building areas for showers, food and entertainment, but their construction is only in the process. Mandatory requirements include taking a daily PCR test for the first three days, taking your temperature twice a day, and washing your hands four times a day.

As compensation, Tesla employees will receive three meals a day and an allowance of 400 yuan per day. Depending on the position, the amount of the allowance may differ.

It is reported that the plant will only have personnel from areas with low infection rates and who have received two components of the vaccine. Employees will work 12 hours a day, 6 days a week with one day off, although the usual schedule is “four in two.”

It is planned that this regime will last until May 1, but the date may change depending on the situation and decisions of the Shanghai authorities.
