BMW CE 02 unveiled: Futuristic electric bike with a speed of 95 km/h and a range of 90 km

The other day, BMW introduced smart glasses for motorcyclists, and now it’s about another release. This is the electric bike BMW CE 02 with a very unusual appearance and rather compact dimensions – in this regard, it is inferior even to some electric scooters. The vehicle concept was presented two years ago, but only now has it entered series production.

BMW is positioning its new product as an eParkourer designed for the urban environment. True, this is only the position of the developers. By all accounts, the BMW CE 02 is a true electric motorcycle.

“With its unusual proportions and striking design, the new CE 02 represents an uncomplicated, youthful form of mobility. Minimalist design language means lightness and fun. When creating, we paid special attention not to utility, but to emotional mood, ”says BMW.

The “heart” of the bike is an 11 kW (15 hp) electric motor, which is capable of accelerating the motorcycle to a speed of 95 km/h. A pair of rechargeable batteries with a total capacity of 3.92 kWh is responsible for autonomy. Their full charge is enough to cover a distance of 90 km. Depending on the power of the charger used, it is possible to replenish the battery charge from 20% to 80% in 2.3–2.8 hours. Despite its small size, the motorcycle has a load capacity of 132 kg.

Sales of the BMW CE 02 have already started. But the price may scare away some buyers – they ask for $ 7,599 for the bike.
