The German automobile concern BMW introduced new “fives” in its line of electrified models: BMW 530e and 550e xDrive. The new items will go on sale in November of this year, but their prices have not yet been announced.

Under the hood of the BMW 530e sedan is a four-cylinder petrol engine with BMW eDrive technology. The engine power is 299 hp, and the electric range is 103 km. The older model received a six-cylinder engine producing 489 hp. also with eDrive. But the electric range is a little less – 90 km.

eDrive technology is a highly efficient drive unit that includes an eight-speed Steptronic sports transmission and an electric motor. This combination allows you to achieve minimal fuel consumption – from 0.6 to 1 liter per 100 km.

The lithium-ion battery, which the car creators placed under the bottom, has a useful capacity of 19.4 kWh and an adaptive recovery system – it allows you to replenish the battery charge while driving. A full charge will take 3 hours and 15 minutes.

The BMW 530e and 550e xDrive come as standard with 19-inch light-alloy wheels and IconicSounds Electric, which enhances the electric driving experience.
