Hong Kong-based audio brand Lumin has announced the U2x, a digital-only streamer with a linear power supply housed in a separate housing. The Lumin U2x is functionally a further development of the earlier Lumin U2 . New are the clock outputs and the isolated USB output for connection to a DAC.
Lumin U2x
The Lumin U2x is an all-new flagship streaming device, equal in status and build quality to the X1. It is designed to provide the ultimate digital output. The Lumin U2x enclosure and its separate power supply utilize the indestructible one-piece CNC chassis construction method of the Lumin X1 and focus on transport-specific innovations such as a newly developed isolated circuit architecture for the increasingly common USB digital output.

Also completely new to the U2x is what it claims is its most advanced clock circuitry to date, with new 10MHz clock input and output connections. The dual 10MHz clock outputs provide flexibility when synchronizing multiple digital audio devices and allow for a master clock configuration, where one device controls the timing for other units. This approach can minimize jitter by ensuring that all devices are operating from a consistent and stable timing reference.
