Wharfedale has launched Dolby Atmos speakers to complement the Diamond 12 line with the Diamond 12 3D. The speaker design matches the style of the Diamond 12 exactly, and comes in black or white, walnut or light oak finishes.
There are two options for installing Diamond 12 3D. Firstly, they can be located on the upper planes of the Diamond 12.1 or 12.3 speakers. In addition, wall mounts are provided. The sound of the Diamond 12 3D matches perfectly with the rest of the Diamond 12 series, which Wharfedale emphasizes separately.
The novelty has a midrange / woofer with a 10-cm cone made of a proprietary polypropylene / mica composite – the radiators are of the same plan in the Diamond 12.1 and 12.3 models. Upgrading a Wharfedale Diamond 12-based system to a Dolby Atmos-enabled variant is now a breeze.
In the US, the Wharfedale Diamond 12 3D speakers cost $550 a pair.
