McIntosh MHT300: 7.2-channel home theater receiver

McIntosh has introduced a new 7.2-channel home theater receiver MHT 300 . The MHT300 provides from 120 (for a load with a nominal impedance of 8 ohms) to 150 watts (for a load with a nominal impedance of 8 ohms) for each of the seven channels and supports video with parameters 8K / 60 Hz and 4K / 120 Hz, as well as video with Dolby Vision extended dynamic range and HDR10+ on all four inputs and one HDMI output.

The McIntosh MHT 300 home theater receiver supports the latest surround sound formats – Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. The presence of a low-level analog output for the height channels (Height) allows you to get a surround sound system in a configuration up to 7.2.4, for which you only need to add external power amplifiers to the system. The McIntosh MHT300 cinema receiver features Dirac Live Room Correction, an automatic sound calibration system for room acoustics.

The MHT300 combines traditional McIntosh design features, such as a signature black glass front panel, a greenish illuminated McIntosh logo, and silver-colored metal control knobs.

The receiver features McIntosh’s proprietary Power Guard technologies that prevent overload and speaker damage, the Sentry Monitor short-circuit protection system that shuts down the output stage if current reaches an unsafe level and then automatically resets when operating conditions return to normal, a power saving system power that turns off the device if no input signal is detected within a specified period of time, and turns on the MHT300 when a useful signal is received.

The McIntosh MHT 300 Cinema Receiver will be available in North America in March 2023. The recommended retail price of new items in the UK will be 8,995 pounds.
