Starke Sound has steadily built a reputation for doing things a little differently. Founded in Southern California in 2009 by a team of engineers, designers, and unapologetic audiophiles, the company has always focused on marrying serious acoustic engineering with modern, real-world usability. With the new Beta5, Starke Sound brings that philosophy down to its most accessible level yet—without watering down the fundamentals that matter.

The Starke Sound Beta5 is the most compact model in the Beta series and serves as the brand’s official entry-level speaker. But “entry-level” here simply refers to size and price, not ambition. Designed as a versatile two-way bookshelf speaker, the Beta5 is intended to work equally well in classic stereo systems, multichannel home theater setups, and compact all-in-one audio systems.
Rather than chasing exaggerated bass or hyped treble, the Beta5 aims for balance, control, and consistency—qualities that tend to age far better than flashy first impressions.

Smart integration with Eversolo
Launching alongside the Beta5 is an expanded collaboration between Starke Sound and Eversolo. As part of this partnership, dedicated EQ profiles for both the Beta5 and the larger Beta7 will be available directly within the Eversolo Play platform.
When paired with compatible Eversolo components, the speakers can be automatically configured using these optimized profiles. The system takes into account impedance behavior, efficiency, and placement scenarios—whether you’re running a two-channel music setup, a surround system, or even a gaming-focused audio rig. The idea is simple: remove friction from setup, without removing control from the listener.
At its core, the Beta5 is a traditional two-way bookshelf design—but executed with clear attention to detail. High frequencies are handled by a 29 mm tweeter featuring an enlarged voice coil, designed to improve power handling and maintain composure at higher listening levels.

The mid-bass driver is a 5.25-inch unit using a dry carbon sandwich diaphragm, built around Starke Sound’s proprietary HEMF (High-Efficiency Magnetic Flux) technology. The goal here is controlled bass response, a stable and well-defined soundstage, and even dispersion across the listening area—important in real living rooms where listeners aren’t always perfectly centered.
Tuned for both music and screen audio
Starke Sound positions the Beta5 as a speaker equally at home with music and film or TV content. Dialogue clarity, tonal accuracy, and phase coherence were key design priorities, making the Beta5 a strong candidate for mixed-use systems where one setup handles everything from vinyl and streaming to movies and series.
This focus on balance also means the Beta5 avoids fatigue during long listening sessions—an often overlooked quality that separates genuinely good speakers from merely impressive ones.
All major elements of the Beta5—including drivers, crossover networks, and cabinet design—are developed in-house. The cabinet incorporates an internal vibration control system to suppress unwanted resonances, helping keep distortion low even when the volume rises.

Neodymium magnet systems are used in the drivers to improve efficiency and reduce distortion, and the speaker is rated for a maximum sound pressure level of 108 dB, underscoring that compact doesn’t mean fragile.
Pricing and system bundles
The Starke Sound Beta5 is priced at $499 per pair, positioning it squarely in the competitive compact hi-fi segment. For those looking for a ready-to-play solution, Starke Sound also offers system bundles:
-
Beta5 + Eversolo Play Standard Edition: $1,098
-
Beta5 + Eversolo Play CD Edition: $1,198
These packages underline the Beta5’s role as a modern, streamlined gateway into serious hi-fi—designed not just to sound good out of the box, but to grow naturally as the system around it evolves.
