The professional DJ player Denon VL12 Prime from the flagship Denon DJ Prime line is a device designed for record playback, scratching and turntablism. The Denon VL12 Prime features a durable and stable body, an all-metal palm rest and brushed metal controls that prevent slipping of fingers. The Denon VL12 Prime features quartz stabilized direct drive, a key feature of professional DJ turntables as it is more comfortable and capable of manual scratching and stopping than a belt drive. The S-shaped tonearm promotes precise tracking and also features lock/release functions and an anti-skate control. The platter is made of aluminum, has a diameter of 13.1 inches and two torque settings: Low and Hi. In Low mode, the instantaneous torque is 3.2 kg/cm, constant 1.4 kg/cm. In Hi mode, instantaneous and constant starting speeds are 5 kg/cm and 3.4 kg/cm, respectively. There is a backlight for the platter with the ability to adjust the brightness and change the color. The backlight controls and the platter mode switch are located on the rear wall of the case.
The isolated motor design ensures optimal signal-to-noise ratio, while anti-vibration feet eliminate unnecessary vibration and unnecessary signal. The device has two playback speeds: 33 1/3 and 45 revolutions, as well as three degrees of tone change: +/-8%, +/-16%, +/-50%. The outputs are represented by two RCA connectors. Denon VL12 Prime is made on vibration-isolated legs, which allow it to stand firmly and steadily on the table. I heard the tone arm on the Prime VL12 was flimsy and not good for scratching.
