ASUS displayed, on Tuesday (09), at its stand at CES 2024 , a pair of immersive glasses that can be connected to other devices to expand their multitasking capabilities. The accessory features a high-resolution screen and industry-leading technologies to ensure realism in games, movies, virtual meetings and many other use cases.
The AirVision M1, as it is called, is a wearable device that resembles the Ray-Ban Meta, but its operation depends on a cell phone, tablet or PC. It is necessary to connect it via a USB-C cable to mirror content on its immersive screen with Full HD resolution (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) and Micro OLED technology with peak brightness of 1,110 nits.

This miniature panel has a short response time, allowing greater fluidity in fast-paced games or when browsing websites and social networks. In order to preserve user privacy, the Taiwanese manufacturer developed an exclusive feature to prevent third parties from viewing the content displayed on the screen.
The accessory has a 57º field of view which, according to ASUS, is ideal for human peripheral vision, allowing users to interact with various application screens in aspect ratios, such as 16:9 or 32:9. To do this, simply use the touch-sensitive button located on its left stem, which also allows you to adjust the brightness and activate a 3D mode.

Thanks to the possible settings, the user can pin a virtual screen so that it remains in a specific location in relation to the device, even when looking around. This will allow you to easily interact with your notebook, notes on a desk or a colleague nearby, for example, without having to remove the AirVision M1.
You can also use ASUS software on Windows to configure multiple virtual screens and insert content into each one. The company states that, depending on the processor and video card resources of the desktop or notebook, there are options to configure multiple virtual screens, each with its own content.
To switch focus from one virtual screen to another, simply turn your head toward other content. The headset’s exclusive Motion Sync feature ensures smooth transitions with low latency as the user’s gaze moves around the virtual workspace.
The AirVision M1 features noise-cancelling microphones and speakers, allowing video calls and voice conversations to offer an experience free from interference that detracts from the user experience.

The glasses are compatible with any smartphone or console that can transmit video through DisplayPort Alt Mode — which includes the ASUS ROG Ally , the company’s portable game console —, but it is only possible to take advantage of the advanced virtual screen configuration options on one device with Windows.
ASUS has not yet released the price, release date and countries in which it will launch the AirVision M1, but it is a fact that the device will hit the market to be part of a wave of products focused on immersion.
