German manufacturer T+A has introduced the MP 200 G3, an enhancement of the well-regarded 200 series. This advanced multi-source player features the innovative Audiophile Streaming Architecture (ASA) G3. It offers exceptional sound quality, cutting-edge streaming capabilities, and refined signal processing, all within a compact design.
“Our ASA G3 represents one of the key technological developments of recent years, which we are now gradually integrating into new and existing products. As with the R and HV series, ASA is preparing the MP 200 G3 for the second phase of its product life cycle,” explains spokesman Dave Nauber on the occasion of the presentation of the new MP 200 G3 Multi Source Player.
The new ASA G3 enables exceptionally versatile use of the MP 200 G3. Music can be streamed directly from a smartphone or tablet to the device using services such as Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect and Apple AirPlay 2. In addition, the streaming architecture supports high-resolution formats, including native streaming of DSD files without conversion, ensuring lossless sound reproduction. The MP 200 G3 also has a slot-in CD transport on board.
Currently, Roon Ready certification is being worked on and, once obtained, will further expand the range of functions of the device in the future. With a new motherboard and the integration of the Gracenote music service, signal processing has been further improved, so that, for example, album art and background information can be displayed in the T+A MusicNavigator G3 app.
The MP 200 G3 is equipped with an FM tuner. Furthermore, the MP 200 G3 is a fully digital device without analogue connections. Digital music signal comes out via a digital cinch connection.
T+A MP 200 G3: durability through upgrade options
T+A is underlining its sustainability strategy by upgrading the previous MP 200 model to the ASA G3 from spring 2025. This update includes new hardware components and specially adapted operating software. Booking upgrade appointments is possible via authorized specialist dealers or directly with T+A. According to T+A, the demand for upgrading existing devices is high. Yes, there is also a downside, because due to the high demand, customers often have to wait some time before the upgrade can be carried out.
T+A MP 200 G3: price and delivery information
The T+A MP 200 G3 is expected to be available for delivery later this month in a silver anodized and black anodized version. The suggested retail price is just under $5,500.
