Cambridge Audio has unveiled the latest addition to its EX Series music streaming lineup, the EXN100 music streamer. This model is equipped with a state-of-the-art ESS ES9028Q2M SABRE32 reference DAC and builds upon the highly regarded CXN100. The EXN100 stands out with its capability to handle PCM digital inputs of up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD 512, which, according to Cambridge Audio, results in exceptional dynamic range and remarkably low distortion.
At the heart of the EXN100 is the latest fourth generation of the popular StreamMagic streaming platform and module, which handles everything from controlling network player hardware and interacting with the StreamMagic app, to integrating third-party software and interacting with streaming services and other devices on your home network.
StreamMagic connects to all your streaming services, including Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Deezer and Qobuz, and supports Roon Ready, UPnP and internet radio connectivity, as well as Chromecast, AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth aptX HD. As with the Cambridge Audio EXA100 integrated amplifier, the EXN100 has digital connectivity options including HDMI eARC, USB, coaxial and optical TOSLINK, as well as analogue connectivity with balanced XLR outputs.
The easy-to-use StreamMagic app lets you control the entire system, but if you choose to pair the Cambridge Audio EXN100 with the EXA100, you’ll also get an extra remote control. But don’t worry, you can also buy the Cambridge Audio EXA100 remote separately. In addition to its sleek moon gray finish, the Cambridge Audio EXN100 music streamer also features a large 1280 x 720 pixel color screen, which is 25% larger and has a higher resolution than the CXN100. You can even customize the display with digital album art, a clock, or video meters.
