The elegant appearance of the Yamaha NS-2000A combines the style of a piano with the design philosophy of a speaker. These speakers feature Yamaha’s signature high-gloss finish using the same process found on our grand pianos, a process reserved for a limited number of products in the Yamaha portfolio. This elegant finish presents the speaker as a stylish piece of furniture, providing a pleasant experience both when listening to music and even during non-working hours.

Each ear hears the world differently. Yamaha delivers sound the way the artist intended. Reproducing sound elements such as vocals, instruments at the correct pitch requires both passion and precision. Yamaha achieves this by balancing tonal balance, enriching harmonies, and recreating musicality to help you hear sounds you couldn’t hear before.

Rendering the sounds of musical instruments as they are. As a world-renowned musical instrument brand, Yamaha is relentlessly committed to this mission. To make this vision a reality, we created our flagship speakers with a design concept of consistent tone color across the entire frequency spectrum and applied unique technology to achieve this. For each of its speakers, the Yamaha NS-2000A uses a newly developed Harmonious Diaphragm™, made from a blend of ZYLON®, which has superior sound speed and minimal internal dispersion, and spruce, which is actually used in the soundboards of Yamaha grand pianos and is essential for sound transmission. This provides precise, precise tonal expression across the entire audio spectrum, making sound harmonies brighter and music richer and more beautiful.

The position of the artist and the instrument, and even the subtle nuances and very atmosphere of the performing space are stunningly reproduced as they are. The resulting soundstage is so incredibly realistic that you’ll feel as if you’re watching a performance unfold right in front of you.

Yamaha’s patented RS (Resonance Suppression) chambers are installed on the rear of the tweeter and midrange to accurately capture even the subtlest nuances of musical instruments and voices. Two specially shaped tubes that eliminate unwanted resonance behind the diaphragm without relying on conventional sound-absorbing materials, restoring natural sound and preserving the finest musical nuances of the original source.

Conventional speakers use large amounts of sound-absorbing material to eliminate standing waves within the cabinet. Unfortunately, this also takes away much of the music’s inherent freshness. In the Yamaha NS-2000A, we used our patented acoustic absorption resonator tube to eliminate standing waves and at the same time minimize the amount of absorption material, so that the original realism of the music, which tends to be lost due to sound absorption, is reproduced with full energy and dynamism.

Rather than simply creating a powerful sound, we strive for a sense of dynamics that expresses the contrast between stillness and movement in the music, allowing you to feel very deep emotions in the music and immerse yourself in this musical world.

The basis for creating great sound—figuring out what makes a cabinet sound and where to suppress vibration—is virtually identical whether it’s making musical instruments or making speakers. The Yamaha NS-2000A’s cabinet design incorporates advanced speaker design technology that takes full advantage of laser vibration meters used in musical instrument research and development and sophisticated finite element analysis (FEM). The cabinet crossbar has been optimally reinforced, providing robust low-frequency response, providing a solid, comfortable musical foundation and expressing the expansiveness of the soundstage without any loss.

Representative of the flagship series, the Yamaha NS-2000A uses the highest quality parts for the crossover circuit. The MCap ® SUPREME Classic audio capacitor from Mundorf of Germany, known as the pinnacle of audio capacitor technology, is used in conjunction with a huge woofer coil. Cut from pure brass, the large screw-type speaker terminals allow for easy, strong tightening, providing a very secure connection and ensuring absolute signal integrity. The speaker terminals are uniquely designed and shaped to fit comfortably on a person’s fingers, creating a luxurious feel while allowing for easy tightening.
