Velodyne Acoustics, renowned for its high-performance subwoofers, is set to showcase its latest product innovations at ISE 2025 (Integrated Systems Europe) from February 4 to 7. The highlight of their exhibition will be the debut of the new SPL-X series, which will be unveiled to the public for the first time in Barcelona.
The SPL-X series from Velodyne Acoustics is built on an advanced DSP platform that delivers exceptional sound quality, as demonstrated in the MiniVee X and SC1500 models. These new subwoofers are offered in sizes of 10″, 12″, 15″, and 18″, merging cutting-edge technology with a sleek design inspired by the “Digital Drive Plus” series. The robust enclosures, featuring 38 mm thick walls and internal bracing, provide maximum resonance control and support the powerful magnet systems of the high-performance drivers.
The SPL-X series is powered by robust amplifier modules: the SPL-X 10 operates at 1,000 watts RMS, while the SPL-X 18 boasts an impressive 1,800 watts RMS. The newly engineered drivers, equipped with carbon fiber membranes, four-layer 102 mm voice coils (76 mm for the SPL-X 10), double centering spiders, and triple rear-ventilated drive units, ensure accurate and powerful bass performance.
With high-quality balanced and unbalanced inputs and outputs, along with durable speaker terminals, the SPL-X models can be seamlessly integrated into HiFi and home cinema systems. The user-friendly Velodyne Acoustics AutoEQ app simplifies the process of controlling and adjusting the subwoofers to suit the room.
A supplied measuring microphone facilitates automatic room measurement and sound optimization. Advanced configuration features, including adjustable slopes, subsonic filters, output filters, and customizable delay, make the SPL-X series an ideal choice for discerning home cinema enthusiasts and acoustic professionals. Additionally, a night mode allows for reduced power consumption during low-noise applications.
