Danish loudspeaker manufacturer System Audio has unveiled its Signature product line. The range consists of a floorstander, a monitor model, two wall-mounted models and an active subwoofer. The cabinets are sleek and minimalistic and the buyer can choose between satin black and white.
System Audio Signature
The new product line from System Audio is aimed at lovers of minimalist design that fits seamlessly into any home environment, according to the designers. The Signature series consists of five models, namely the three-way floorstanding Signature 40, two-way monitor model Signature 5, active subwoofer Signature 8 and two-way wall-mounted models Signature 6 and Signature 10.
The Signature 40 floorstanding speaker features a 25mm soft-dome tweeter alongside two woofers and a midrange driver, all measuring 140mm in diameter. The Signature 5 monitor model features a single 25mm tweeter and a 140mm midrange and bass driver. The Signature 8 subwoofer features 600 watts of amplification and two 20cm diameter woofers.
The drivers for the new Signature series are developed in-house and, according to the designers, aim to achieve a perfectly balanced and consistent sound from model to model. System Audio has designed the new 25-millimeter soft-dome tweeter specifically for this product line. The tweeter has a low-mass woven-fiber diaphragm and a neodymium magnet that allows the tweeter to be used at a lower crossover frequency. Furthermore, the brand’s DXT acoustic waveguide helps to deliver excellent dispersion for room-filling sound.
The two new 140mm midrange and bass drivers have also been custom-made for the range and optimised for the cabinet. The drivers use a lightweight, low-distortion fibreglass cone alongside a long-stroke motor system that allows the diaphragm to move 40 per cent more air than a traditional speaker of the same size, resulting in deeper, more defined bass, according to the manufacturer.
