Albedo Audio has introduced the Albedo Audio Achema floorstanding speaker system , featuring a 2.5-way configuration. This new product incorporates all the design features that have distinguished the brand over the years, such as the Albedo transmission line. The Achema is a sleek floorstanding speaker, designed to seamlessly blend into any home interior. According to the manufacturer, high-quality ceramic drivers remain fundamental to delivering sound rich in detail, dynamics, and transparency.
By using a larger driver for the half-way design, the developers increased the radiating surface area to increase sound pressure, as in a 2.5-way speaker, while maintaining the higher energy and dynamics typical of 3-way systems. This made it possible to use higher-impedance drivers, offering speakers with a nominal impedance higher than the classic 8 ohms and addressing the weakness of many 2.5-way speakers.

That’s why Albedo Audio Achema speakers are an easy driver for any amplifier: they don’t require much power, are easily controlled, and can deliver their best performance even with single-ended tube amplifiers. Distortion levels will always be low, and the musical balance will be unwavering.
Albedo Audio Achema loudspeakers are offered as the first model in a new line of acoustic systems, but they reflect the exceptional qualities of the company’s most iconic models, such as AGADIA or ACCLARA, with the same shapes, the same design and the same attention to the mechanical stability of the cabinet and the reduction of vibrations using heavy steel damping plates.

Albedo Audio designed a new enclosure for the Achema speakers. It’s smaller and lighter, yet maintains the right balance between weight and stability to maintain the remarkable sonic focus that’s so characteristic of the company’s speakers. Furthermore, new side ports not only facilitate installation in any room but also stabilize the airflow, reducing turbulence that could otherwise cause noise during listening, allowing the system to maximize its dynamic range and bass extension. Although the enclosures are compact, durable wooden panels were used, reaching a thickness of 30 mm at the most critical points.

The new crossover boards were designed to reduce the number of solder points, shorten copper traces, and arrange components to minimize magnetic field interaction. This optimized performance, resulting in a sensitivity gain of +1 dB SPL compared to the standard solution. The crossover utilizes MUNDORF components, which the developers believe provide superior transparency, dynamics, and musical realism. The crossover is housed in a compartment completely isolated from the acoustic chamber. This ensures mechanical and microphone isolation of the components responsible for audio signal processing.
