Masimo Consumer, parent company of brands such as Denon and Marantz, presents an update for the HEOS ecosystem. The update contains new and improved features and brings Roon support to a number of audio components.
HEOS update 36
HEOS is a streaming ecosystem originally developed by Japanese Denon that is now also supported by sister brand Marantz. Parent company Masimo has developed an update that can be installed for free by existing owners. What will change about the HEOS platform?
- The user is given more precise control when playing music from a USB storage device and can now jump to a specific point in a track during USB playback (connected to a HEOS device).
- The queue (playlist) length has been increased. The total number of songs is now limited to 1,000, up from 300. This also means that saved playlists can contain up to 1,000 songs.
- The HEOS devices support SMB 3.0 for network sharing, allowing users to connect their HEOS device to a NAS or PC. The previous version, SMB 1.0, is no longer supported by most NAS vendors and Windows.
- Update 35 already brought some big improvements to the loading time, but update 36 goes one step further. Depending on the circumstances and the content, the time until the content is displayed can be reduced by more than two seconds.
The following HEOS Built-in products are now Roon-Ready, with more units to follow in the coming months.
