Marantz is proud to introduce two new products to its growing portfolio of reference-quality home theater components. The AV 20 AV preamplifier and the AMP 20 power amplifier build on the lineage established with the combination of the award-winning AV 10 and AMP 10 and the CINEMA 30 AVR.
Marantz AV 20 and AMP 20
With the new AV 20 and AMP 20, Marantz expands its portfolio of multi-channel components to create a family of premium products that seamlessly complement each other and enable a wide variety of system configurations. Naturally, every aspect of these components’ performance has been optimally tuned by the Marantz Sound Master to deliver the best possible sound quality across all source components and sound modes. Shirakawa Audio Works, Marantz’s premium manufacturing facility in Japan, is responsible for the design and construction of these two new components.
The AV 20 and AMP 20 combine the latest generation of Marantz’s iconic porthole design with the brand’s sleek industrial design language. Both models are built to the highest quality standards, with multi-layered chassis that make generous use of copper. Side lighting on the sleek chassis of both models can be switched on or off as desired. The AV 20’s flip-open front panel hides less frequently used functions when not in use, giving this AV processor a sleek look. Even the aluminum remote control is well thought out. Its illuminated keys make it easy to use, even in a dark room.
Marantz AV 20 and AMP 20: Advanced signal processing, extensive range of features
The new AV 20 employs the latest and most powerful Analog Devices SHARC dual-core DSP chipset coupled with advanced 32-bit dual-channel DAC chips with specially developed jitter suppression. This provides a powerful digital platform that accurately decodes and processes all forms of incoming audio information, from high-resolution stereo to the latest forms of immersive audio including Dolby Atmos, IMAX Enhanced, DTS:X Pro and AURO-3D.
For the best possible results regardless of speaker configuration or listening environment, the AV 20 combines this powerful signal processing with Audyssey MultEQ XT32 room optimization, based on automatic calibration of speaker sizes, distances, level adjustment and more, via the supplied microphone.
Marantz AV 20: Dirac Live
The AV 20 also features Dirac Live Room Correction plus Dirac Live Bass Control for fully optimised low frequency integration for up to four independent subwoofers. This ensures perfectly coherent bass response even in the most challenging environments.
For the first time, Marantz introduces support for Dirac’s most advanced room optimization technology: Dirac Live Active Room Treatment (ART). This advanced technology is designed to deliver an unparalleled, coherent and tonal listening experience, better than any other form of room optimization. The Dirac Live ART upgrade will be made available via a future firmware update.
Marantz AV 20: flexible, powerful, smart
The AV 20 is suitable for a wide range of system configurations, now and in the future. Each of the seven HDMI inputs supports 8K/60Hz or 4K/120Hz video. The newly developed high-resolution user interface makes the AV 20 easy to install and seamlessly adapts to local conditions.
A variety of analog and digital inputs, coupled with a wealth of features optimized for custom installation, ensure that the AV 20 can be adapted to suit any customer application, from an intimate media room to a large home theater. The discrete HDAM SA-3 preamp stage powers up to 13.4 channels via RCA or XLR outputs, for unprecedented flexibility in system configurations.
In addition, the AV 20 also supports the latest HEOS multi-room platform, giving users effortless access to streaming services, all seamlessly integrated into one unified user experience. Roon Ready, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth complement HEOS, providing easy access to a wide range of streaming services, mobile devices and applications.
Marantz AMP 20: Clear amplification with minimal distortion
With its high power and wide versatility, the AMP 20 multichannel power amplifier fits into the most diverse system configurations. The AMP 20 is designed to the same aesthetic and performance standards as the acclaimed AMP 10. It is configured as a cool-running 12-channel power amplifier with 200 watts per channel (8 ohms, 1 kHz, THD 0.05 % with two channels driven), which is enough to effortlessly drive several different speaker configurations and setups.
It also offers the option to configure pairs of 200 Watt amplifier channels as BTL (Bridged-Tied Load) outputs, providing up to six 400 Watt channels if required by the chosen speaker system. It is possible to use up to six speakers in a bi-amp configuration. Naturally, both XLR and RCA inputs are provided.
Of course, the AMP 20 can also be combined with other Marantz components in a system. For example, as a powerful amplifier upgrade to a CINEMA 30, or as a supplement to AV 10 AV pre-amplifiers when fewer power channels are needed. AV 20 owners can also choose to purchase a 16-channel AMP 10 amplifier instead of the AMP 20 if their home theater setup requires more power channels than the 12 channels offered by the AMP 20.

Both the Marantz AV 20 and the AMP 20 are available in black. They each change hands for 5,500 euros.
