The Audiolab 9000CDT is a dedicated compact disc transport that features a high-quality drive mechanism designed to meet industry standards set by the audiolab sound philosophy. The latest in a long line of award-winning compact disc players from Audiolab, the 9000CDT uses a high-precision optical system with an electronic data buffer for accurate and smooth disc playback. A digital read-ahead buffer to reduce disc read failures helps the Audiolab 9000CDT play scratched and damaged CDs that may be unreadable by conventional mechanisms.
To ensure a flawless signal delivery to the connected DAC, the Audiolab 9000CDT coaxial output is powered by a differential linear driver stage. The master clock is controlled by a precision crystal oscillator, allowing the digital output to demonstrate vanishingly low jitter (digital distortion), both on the coaxial and optical connectors. The low-friction loading tray, the robust aluminum base and the chassis of the Audiolab 9000CDT cope well with vibrations caused by the high-speed motor mechanics. In addition, this transport is mounted in its own housing with electromagnetic shielding and a separate power supply. All this contributes to exemplary digital signal extraction, while the reduction of resonances further improves the sound quality and provides a further positive effect in the auxiliary signal chains.
