A long path to high quality
VOID began to be developed in 2019 and launched in 2022. It took almost three years of research, development and testing before the first full-size MOONDROP headphones were finally ready. Creating outstanding over-ear dynamic driver headphones is a long and arduous journey full of unexpected obstacles, and one that few Chifi brands are willing to take. countless modifications, abandoned dozens of architectures, gained valuable experience in developing dynamic
drivers for over-ear headphones, and steadily moved towards our goal. We are proud to introduce our flagship over-ear dynamic driver headphones. VOID headphones are the epitome of our R&D team’s tireless efforts over the past three years. The budget price tag is made possible by using a full range of proprietary injection molds to produce structural parts.
Custom Designed 50mm Dynamic Driver
Moondrop has developed a 50mm dynamic driver that is the heart of the Void. By fine-tuning each component, the pair achieves high-performance sound that matches the capabilities of flagship-class headphones. The Void benefits from a highly efficient
internal magnetic circuit .
Moondrop has developed a highly efficient internal magnetic circuit to balance the vibration area of each part of the membrane. Using FEA finite element modeling, the geometric structure of the magnetic circuit was optimized. It creates a powerful magnetic flux of 1 Tesla, ensuring smooth and rapid movement of the membrane inside its cavity. This results in clear and accurate sound reproduction with less distortion in the output signal.
Custom designed composite diaphragm coil
Moondrop equipped the Void with a composite diaphragm. The diaphragm coil here has a combination of flexible suspension and a metal-coated dome. This provides effortless handling with excellent dynamics and well-extended treble response in the output signal.
Tuned to HRTF Frequency Curve
With professional tuning, Moondrop Void delivers flagship-level sound. Moondrop processed it with a target response based on HRTF (Head Correlation Transfer Function). The result is superior audio purity with non-linear distortion.
