The KEF mu7 headphones are called “an exercise in engineering and aesthetic excellence.” The respected British brand has once again teamed up with longtime collaborator Ross Lovegrove to create an understated aluminum design.
The Mu7 features 40mm full-range dynamic drivers designed to reveal the smallest acoustic details and specially tuned by KEF’s engineering experts. Mu7 integrates advanced codec technology, delivering hi-res audio up to 24-bit/48kHz via Qualcomm’s aptX HD codec and Bluetooth 5.1 for exceptionally stable, lag-free connections.
Known for its innovative approach and flowing, sculptural forms, KEF says Lovegrove has created an on-ear headphone design that is sophisticated, elegant and fits seamlessly with Ross Lovegrove’s wider collection for KEF.
The result is an ergonomic design with a precision-engineered aluminum frame and breathable memory leather ear pads. Memory foam ear pads conform to the shape of your head, improving both passive and active noise cancellation and bass response, says KEF. Additionally, the lightweight and durable headband provides a tight acoustic seal with minimal pressure on the ears.
The capacitive touchpad on the right ear cup allows users to answer calls, skip tracks, and adjust volume with intuitive taps and swipes. Finally, a hinge point above the ear cups allows the headphones to rotate and flatten, making them ideal for compact transport.
The Mu7 also features Sophisticated Intelligent Active Noise Canceling technology, which uses multiple filters to capture ambient sounds before applying a specialized algorithm to target individual frequencies.
Clear Voice Capture (cVc) technology isolates the speaker’s voice and minimizes all other noise picked up by the microphone, delivering crystal clear calls no matter the environment.
The headphones provide up to 40 hours of playback from a full charge, and a 15-minute quick charge provides 8 hours of playback. Headphones can also be connected to a sound source via the 3.5mm audio jack.
