FiiO has launched the affordable FiiO FP3 in-ear headphones, featuring planar magnetic drivers. The development of this product took over two years, during which FiiO’s engineering team created a new second-generation planar magnetic driver with an impressive membrane diameter of 14.5 mm.
FiiO recently introduced the first in-ear planar magnetic headphones in 2022. Following extensive research into planar magnetic drivers, FiiO engineered a 14.5 mm planar magnetic emitter specifically for the FP3 headphones. This driver features a diaphragm that is merely 1 μm thick. Additionally, it incorporates FiiO’s proprietary dual-layer membrane coating technology, utilizing aluminum and titanium to enhance rigidity significantly. The FiiO FP3 headphones are powered by a robust magnetic system, featuring 14 N52 neodymium magnets in each driver, which generates a strong magnetic flux.
The FiiO FP3 in-ear headphones incorporate the innovative Tesla Valve bass boost technology, which was previously featured in the well-received FD15 model. This advanced technology enables the FiiO FP3 to deliver deep, impactful, and impressive bass performance.
Additionally, the FiiO FP3 headphones are designed with external wooden panels, available in two elegant finishes: rosewood and black walnut. Their ergonomic housing shape ensures comfort for extended listening sessions, even with the inclusion of a substantial 14.5 mm planar driver. Crafted using high-precision 3D printing techniques, the lightweight design of the FiiO FP3 headphones allows each earphone to weigh just 6.5 grams.
The FiiO FP3 in-ear planar headphones are equipped with a four-core Litz Braided cable. Each core consists of 392 high-purity copper conductors that are silver-plated and coated with an external enamel layer. The headphones feature universal 0.78 mm 2-pin connectors for attachment. Conversely, the cable incorporates a proprietary replaceable plug system, allowing for both an unbalanced connection via a 3.5 mm minijack and a balanced connection using a 4.4 mm plug.
