The Denon AH-D5200 headphone cups are made of valuable exotic zebrawood wood. This wood has a unique grain pattern with beautiful stripes and is also high-density, which provides excellent cabinet damping, minimizes parasitic resonances and, according to the company, provides a warm, rich sound tone. The earcups have metal inserts, to which reliable die-cast aluminum holders are attached. The headband adjustment mechanism is equipped with two metal guides with fixed positions, each of which has a number printed on these guides (size scale).
The Denon AH-D5200 is equipped with proprietary 50mm FreeEdge drivers, the membranes of which are made of very light but rigid material. This ensures high response speed and excellent damping, while also minimizing unwanted resonances. As a result, it is possible to obtain an extremely accurate sound with an abundance of details. In addition, the drivers themselves are mounted on special ring panels that help minimize vibration. The headphones have received the “Hi-Res-audio” certificate, as their upper frequency range reaches 40,000 Hz, which is an excellent indicator for unlocking the potential of high-resolution audio recordings.
The headphones have a laconic, elegant design, well-thought-out design and provide a fairly high level of comfort. The ergonomic ear pads are filled with memory foam and finished with soft, high-quality engineered leather, which is made from genuine leather shavings and has a polyurethane coating. The headband is trimmed with the same material. The model is equipped with a detachable three-meter double-sided cable with a 3.5 mm plug. The kit also includes an adapter for a standard jack (6.3 mm) and a case for carrying/storing headphones.
