Audio-Technica ATH-DSR9BT: Closed-back wireless headphones

Audio-Technica ATH-DSR9BT
Audio-Technica ATH-DSR9BT

Audio-Technica ATH-DSR9BT are closed-back wireless headphones that occupy the top position in the DSR Bluetooth series. The headband and ear pads of the model are made of eco-leather and have memory foam filling, which ensures a high level of comfort. The headphones feature proper weight distribution, which makes them even more comfortable. The cups of the model can be rotated 90 degrees. horizontally and sport a stylish polished silver finish.

The Audio-Technica ATH-DSR9BT model is equipped with 45 mm True Motion drivers, the membranes of which have a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating, which increases their rigidity and improves the linearity of the frequency response. The speakers are equipped with lightweight coils wound using four intertwined strands of purified OFC copper. The result is precise control of membrane movement and exceptional sound clarity.

The headphones use the innovative Pure Digital Drive system, which digitally transfers the signal from the source directly to the speaker. The system uses a Trigence Semiconductor Dnote chip, which works in a similar way to PWM and transforms the signal into digital pulses that “push” the coil and, accordingly, the speaker membrane. As a result, there is no need to use a DAC, which introduces additional distortion.

Audio-Technica ATH-DSR9BT has a built-in microphone. Onboard Bluetooth supports aptX and aptX-HD codecs. Thanks to aptX-HD, Hi-Res audio playback at resolutions up to 24-bit/48 kHz becomes available. As an alternative, you can use the Micro-USB port integrated into the left earcup, which not only charges the built-in battery, but also accepts PCM up to 24 bit/96 kHz from a computer.

There is also a volume control (a slide switch, which, in addition to its main purpose, allows you to “jump” to the next or previous track) and a touch panel for controlling playback, working with phone calls and performing other operations. On the left cup there are three LED indicators of operating modes, signaling the charge level, the use of a specific codec, etc. To activate the headphones, use the switch on the right earcup. To establish Bluetooth pairing, in addition to the standard method, you can use NFC technology. On the headband, next to the adjustment slider mechanism, there is a mark to which you need to attach the corresponding NFC-enabled device. The headphones are supplied with a hard case for storage/carrying and a case for the standard USB cable.
