The Topping D90 III Discrete represents an advancement over the D90III, incorporating a fully discrete digital-to-analog conversion module. Each channel utilizes a PSRM module for data conversion, supporting PCM up to 32-bit 768 kHz and DSD 512. Additionally, this DAC is equipped with a Qualcomm QCC5125 Bluetooth 5.1 chip and features a 12V trigger input and output located on the rear panel. It also retains high-quality components from its predecessor, including the Altera Max CPLD.
Topping has introduced a sophisticated 10-band parametric equalizer (PEQ) that empowers you to fine-tune the audio tone to your preference. This feature is accessible through the Topping Tune Windows application, allowing you to modify frequency response, gain, and bandwidth. The software also facilitates the importation of target and original curves, along with the ability to create compensating curves based on target specifications. Additionally, you can save various profiles and easily switch between them as needed. In selecting a Bluetooth chip, Topping chose the QCC5125 Bluetooth 5.1 receiver chip from Qualcomm, a top-tier option that enables the D90 III Discrete to handle high-resolution audio codecs such as aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, and LDAC. This selection ensures a wireless connection capable of streaming audio at PCM 24bit 96kHz, surpassing the standard quality of CDs.
The Topping D90 III Discrete is compatible with multiple I2S data transfer protocols, including I2S PHASE STD, I2S PHASE REV, I2S DSDR DATA, I2S DSDR LRCLK, DSD FLAG 14, and DSD FLAG 15.
