Altec Lansing Launches EverythingProof Hydra 2.0

Altec Lansing, now under the umbrella of Infinity Brands, has recently introduced a new series of rugged wireless portable speakers known as the Hydra 2.0. Tailored for music enthusiasts on the go, these budget-friendly speakers range in price from $24.99 to $149.99 and boast extended battery life along with top-notch audio quality. Each speaker is resistant to sand, dust, shocks, and water. The EverythingProof Hydra 2.0 from Altec Lansing comes with various features such as a carabiner for backpack attachment, a built-in magnet for sticking to metal surfaces, a mounting screw for connecting to the included speaker mount for securing it to bike handlebars, golf carts, ATVs, and more, as well as a bungee option for mounting on a truck tailgate.

Altec Lansing’s EverythingProof Hydra 2.0 speakers demonstrate how a little DSP magic — in some cases, combined with passive radiators — can make a portable, compact speaker sound loud and clear, far better than most people expect. All next-generation Hydra 2.0 portable speakers are IP67 waterproof, making them ideal for use around the pool and at the beach. They feature a built-in stand for optimal sound dispersion, and Party Sync for pairing up to 100 speakers together for seamless performance.

Altec Lansing’s EverythingProof Hydra 2.0 wireless speakers debuted as a “concept” during CES 2024 in January of this year.

“The next generation of the Hydra 2.0 wireless speaker series delivers lifelike sound for listeners of all ages and lifestyles, elevating the historic Altec Lansing brand to the forefront of audio technology ,” said Ike S. Franco , founder and CEO of Infinity Brands, the parent company of Altec Lansing.

The EverythingProof Hydra 2.0 wireless speaker uses USB-C and Power Delivery, as well as Qi wireless charging, allowing you to charge the speaker while playing music, and some models even come with a charging pad for smartphones.

The Hydra 2.0 lineup includes the small and lightweight HydraTrek with six hours of battery life, the HydraMini 2.0, an improved version of the original Bluetooth speaker priced under $40 that’s now 30 percent larger and has twice the battery life of the original, and the Hydra Active, a sporty wrist speaker with a built-in fitness tracker and access to Google Voice and Siri.

Like the HydraMini 2.0, the new HydraWave also has a carabiner and elastic cord for easy portability. The HydraMotion 2.0 has a cylindrical design with 16 hours of battery life and LED lighting, while the HydraJolt 2.0 features a multi-color LED mode and Party Sync. The HydraBlast 2.0 features the longest playtime in the series at 24 hours and fast charging via USB-C or Qi wireless charging.

The new HydraBoom 2.0 is a must-have for those who want a little more bass in their life — with more power output, a tweeter, and a subwoofer — plus Party Sync. Finally, the HydraShock 2.0 combines the best of the bunch — the extra power of the HydraBoom 2.0, LED lighting, and Party Sync comparable to the HydraJolt 2.0, plus USB-C fast charging and Qi wireless charging similar to the HydraBlast 2.0.
