Yamaha has introduced its most sophisticated soundbar yet, the Yamaha TRUE X 90A. This wireless home theater system, which makes no compromises, seeks to transform the capabilities of a soundbar. The TRUE X 90A stands as the premier model in Yamaha’s TRUE X series, crafted for individuals desiring an immersive theater-quality audio experience without the inconvenience of messy equipment and cables.
The Yamaha TRUE X 90A soundbar enhances the True X series that debuted in 2023, featuring the Bar 50A, Bar 40A, and the SW-X100A subwoofer. Additionally, it includes the elegant True X Speaker X1A wireless speakers, which can function independently as Bluetooth speakers.
The Yamaha TRUE X 90A soundbar features a three-component design, consisting of a soundbar, a wireless subwoofer, and wireless rear speakers. This system utilizes Yamaha’s proprietary True X Surround engine, which is engineered to deliver spatial and realistic audio for movies with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X soundtracks. Furthermore, the manufacturer asserts that this is the first soundbar to offer support for the Auro 3D immersive sound format. Even stereo content will see improvements, as the Yamaha True X 90A includes the Auro-3D Auro-Matic mixing function, enabling stereo playback in a three-dimensional sound environment.
In contrast to numerous conventional soundbars, Yamaha leverages its proficiency in AV receivers, a domain where it excels. This results in sound that is rich, clear, expansive, and impactful, all within a tidy, wireless configuration.
The Yamaha TRUE X 90A soundbar features twelve beamformers (six on each side for height effects), four full-range drivers, and three tweeters, all collaborating to produce a vast soundstage. A wireless subwoofer and a set of Yamaha WS-X3A rear speakers come as standard.
Yamaha asserts that a specialized center channel provides precise and clear dialogue, while a Clear Voice Enhancer automatically adjusts voice volume according to the content, ensuring that dialogue remains audible even during action sequences or heavy music. Additionally, there is a Voice Mode and a Night Mode designed to enhance clarity during late-night viewing without raising the overall volume.
Yamaha incorporates its expertise in digital signal processing (DSP) within the Yamaha True X 90A soundbar, utilizing its proprietary Surround:AI technology. This technology analyzes audio signals in real time and adjusts processing based on the mood or content. The manufacturer claims that the Yamaha True X Surround 90A is the first model to feature Yamaha Surround:AI technology, which has previously been exclusive to the company’s AV receivers for delivering optimal, highly realistic, and immersive surround sound. With support for Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, 4K/60, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision passthrough, the Yamaha TRUE X 90A soundbar is designed to serve as a high-performance AV hub, rather than merely an audio enhancement for the television.
All elements of the Yamaha TRUE X 90A system interact wirelessly, maintaining the room’s aesthetic without visible cables. The HDMI eARC port ensures a smooth connection to the television. This innovative product is compatible with Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, and Spotify Connect for music streaming.
The Yamaha TRUE X 90A is managed through the exclusive MusicCast Controller mobile application, which serves as a hub for the entire MusicCast multi-room network. The app enables users to modify volume, select inputs, adjust rear channel levels, and even change the beam angle, in addition to linking the TRUE X 90A with other MusicCast-compatible devices for a comprehensive home audio experience.
The Yamaha TRUE X 90A Cinema System is set to launch in late August or early September, with a recommended retail price of $3,499.
