The three VI-Q series subwoofers showcased by Velodyne Acoustics at ISE 2023 in Barcelona feature carbon fiber composite cones operating in enclosed spaces. In such an acoustic design, one can hope for their high musicality. The manufacturer emphasizes the low level of distortion for all three new products.
The Velodyne VI-Q 10, VI-Q 12, and VI-Q 15 subwoofers feature 10, 12, and 15-inch drivers, respectively. The older model at 1200 W peak power will allow you to get sound pressure up to 120 dB.
All three models are equipped with 3-inch voice coils operating in a field of dual ferrite magnets. The bodies are made of MDF, they are supplemented with many braces for greater rigidity, and the front wall is reinforced. Class D amplifiers in models with an index of 10, 12 and 15 deliver 450, 500 and 600 W RMS, respectively, with approximately 80% more peak power.
VI-Q subwoofer settings, including room correction and 25-band parametric EQ, are available in the Velodyne iWoofer app. It also provides the ability to quickly select saved setup configurations.
For European customers, the Velodyne VI-Q 10, 12 and 15 subwoofers are priced at €1,800, €2,000 and €2,500, respectively.
