In 2022, Triangle Hifi, the French audio equipment maker, broadened its Borea line of speaker systems with the introduction of two new active models: the BR02 BT and the Borea BR03 BT. Following this expansion, two additional models have now been added to the lineup: the Borea BR02 Connect and the BR03 Connect, further enhancing the range with their new features and connectivity options.

A significant enhancement in the new Borea BR02 Connect and BR03 Connect models is the inclusion of an HDMI port, enabling direct connection to a TV via an HDMI cable. This feature positions them as viable components of a home theater system, offering users a seamless audio experience. The convenience extends to control options; the speakers can be operated using the included remote control or the TV’s remote, simplifying the user experience.
Additionally, a USB-B input has been introduced, providing the option to connect the speakers directly to a computer. This connectivity enhancement is particularly beneficial for the compact BR02 Connect model, appealing to consumers who value a minimalist setup. The small footprint of these speakers, especially the BR02 Connect, is a welcomed feature for those looking to conserve desk space while still enjoying high-quality audio performance.
The speakers are designed with an integrated vinyl preamp, catering to vinyl enthusiasts. Additionally, Triangle has collaborated with Pro-Ject to offer a package that includes a pair of speakers alongside a turntable, providing a comprehensive audio solution for users.
Both the BR02 Connect and BR03 Connect models support Bluetooth 5.0 aptX HD Low Latency, capable of delivering high-resolution audio up to 24 bit / 48 kHz. They are also equipped with coaxial and optical digital inputs for versatile connectivity options, alongside an RCA output for connecting a subwoofer, enhancing the bass response for a fuller sound experience.
The speaker units feature a five-inch midrange driver with a cellulose membrane and a tweeter equipped with an EFS (Efficient Flow System) waveguide for precise sound dispersion. The BR03 Connect model boasts a larger main speaker, with a diameter of 6.5 inches, to accommodate a broader range of frequencies. Powering these speakers is a built-in class D amplifier, with the BR02 Connect offering 2 x 50 W and the BR03 Connect slightly more powerful at 2 x 60 W.
Available in a variety of case colors—black, cream, green, light oak, oak (darker shade), and blue—these speakers offer aesthetic flexibility to match any room decor, making them a stylish as well as functional addition to any audio setup.
