Sony launches new Bravia audio products with support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos

SONY LAUNCHES NEW BRAVIA AUDIO PRODUCTS
SONY LAUNCHES NEW BRAVIA AUDIO PRODUCTS

Sony has launched two new soundbars with matching surround speakers. To be completely immersed in surround sound,Sony also released a new neckband speaker.

Bravia audio products for Bravia televisions

The new audio products match Sony’s new Bravia televisions and support both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

Sony has further developed its BRAVIA product line of televisions and audio products to deliver a home theater experience with the best possible picture and sound quality from a single source by bringing together televisions, sound bars and other home audio components. Sony has focused on the differences between the viewing environments in the cinema and at home with the aim of bringing the same immersive audio quality as in the cinema into the four walls of the home of ordinary consumers, according to the Japanese manufacturer.

Sony Bravia Theater Bar 8 and Bar 9 for 360 degree spatial sound

According to the manufacturer, Sony’s 360 spatial sound mapping technology creates multiple phantom speakers in places where there are no physical speakers, such as above or next to a device. As a result, Sony promises a spatial 360-degree sound experience that is adapted to a specific living environment – with just one soundbar that omits the rear speakers. The Bravia Theater 9 has thirteen drivers on board. The Theater 8 has eleven.

“Theater Quad” is the name of the Bravia setup, which is intended to achieve a wider surround sound with four slim speakers. Each Quad speaker has four drivers on board.

Sony Bravia for sound field optimization

Using sound field optimization, designers say each speaker should be able to automatically adapt to the room layout, finding the best location for a home theater system to reproduce the effect of cinema sound at home.

A technology called Acoustic Center Sync links external sound systems to the television, allowing the sound from the television speakers and the soundbar to flow seamlessly together to create a cinema-like experience where the sound appears to come straight from the television screen. Another feature called Voice Zoom 3 aims to ensure better voice intelligibility in movie sound.

Sony Bravia Theater U: neckband speaker

The new Bravia Theater U is a neckband speaker designed for a personalized listening experience. It should allow high volume without the wearer having to worry about the environment. In combination with compatible Sony Bravia televisions with 360 spatial sound, the Japanese manufacturer promises the enjoyment of extended Dolby Atmos sound.

Prices and delivery information have yet to be announced.
