RA ACOUSTICS MAGNA R3
RA ACOUSTICS MAGNA R3

RA Acoustics has launched its flagship Magna R3. the Magna R3 is made of armored wood. The closed housing houses a 4.5-way system.

Robert Auer is the man behind the company RA Acoustics , founded in 2021. He says he started designing and building speakers at the age of 15. Apparently with success, because according to his own claims he subsequently managed to sell more than 100 units. Now Auer has turned his hobby into a profession and applies high standards in the development and construction of loudspeakers.

The housings of RA Acoustics loudspeakers are made in RA Acoustics’ own factory from so-called armored wood. This is a special material that is made under high pressure from natural wood and synthetic components. In this way, the panels and parts of very low-resonance enclosures are created.

The RA Acoustics portfolio currently consists of seven models in three product lines. The Magna series includes two floorstanders with integrated active subwoofers, the Parabola series consists of three passive floorstanding speakers and then there is the Gravis series which consists of two active subwoofers:

RA Acoustics: Magna R3: The new flagship speaker

According to RA Acoustics, the Magna R3 is the answer to all questions regarding loudspeaker design. The construction, material used and weight of the housing gives an impressive lack of resonance. Five drivers are mounted at the front, including a beryllium tweeter, and the two woofers with a diameter of 32 centimeters, which are controlled with DSP, are located at the back. The housing is closed. So there is no bass port.

The Magna R3 weighs 120 kilograms and measures 1,389 x 340 x 480 millimeters (H x W x D, including feet). The speaker has a high sensitivity of 92 dB (2.83 Volt / 1 meter) and the specified frequency range is from 20 Hz to 40 kHz ((+/- 3dB).

The Magna R3 costs approx $70.000 per pair.
