Austria’s Pro-Ject Audio Systems has introduced the Speaker Box 10 Carbon, a sleek two-way floor-standing speaker equipped with dual woofers made from a glass fiber carbon composite cone. The Speaker Box 10 Carbon comes in black and white options, with walnut available for an extra fee.
The Speaker Box 10 E Carbon is equipped with a 1-inch silk dome tweeter and two custom 4-inch fiberglass carbon composite woofers. These components are housed in a slim, ultra-rigid, non-resonant MDF cabinet, designed to provide high-quality music reproduction at a competitive price point.
Pro-Ject Audio claims that the Speaker Box 10 Carbon offers an audiophile-grade flat frequency response ranging from 48 Hz to 20 kHz. This results in a natural sound profile complemented by robust bass performance. With a sensitivity rating of 87 dB (1 Watt / 1 meter), it does not necessitate a high-powered amplifier. The manufacturer suggests that their compact models, MaiA S3 or MaiA DS3, are ideal companions for this speaker.
The design of the Speaker Box 10 E Carbon is both understated and elegant, allowing it to seamlessly integrate into various interior aesthetics. The bass port is positioned at the rear, and the front is free of visible screws, with the included cover panels secured magnetically for easy attachment and removal.
The dimensions of the speaker are 935 x 140 x 190 millimeters (H x W x D), and it weighs 7.93 kilograms.
