Swiss loudspeaker manufacturer Piega is introducing a new line of passive loudspeakers. The enhanced Piega Premium Gen2 includes the monitor model Premium 301 Gen2 and the floorstanding model Premium 701 Gen2. Consistent with Piega’s tradition, the enclosures are constructed from aluminum, and customers can select from silver anodized finishes or black or white lacquered options.

The two new speakers named Premium 301 Gen2 and Premium 701 Gen2 are equipped with the latest version of the magnetostatic tweeter RM 01-24, which was previously used in the more expensive Coax series. The new abbreviation “RM” refers to the names of the inventors Roger Kessler and Mario Ballabio. Piega builds its products by hand in its own factory in Switzerland.

Compared to the previous series, the manufacturer intended to make the second generation much more elegant. The new shape is, according to the manufacturer, based on the oval shape of the ACE series. Piega again uses the high-quality aluminum housing that can be supplied in three versions. The color variants themselves have also been given a sandblasted matte finish.

The Premium 301 Gen2 is a compact two-way loudspeaker. There is also a matching metal stand, which closely follows the design of the ACE series. The Premium 701 Gen2 is a floor-standing three-way loudspeaker with four drivers. New are the midrange and woofers, which were specially designed for this loudspeaker series. The designers at Piega also wanted to emphasize improvements in impulse accuracy, spatial imaging and dynamics. An interesting visual feature is the stand, which lifts the floor-standing loudspeaker off the floor, so to speak.
