The latest S2 model is part of Magico’s S series, a renowned American brand recognized for its premium speaker production. The S Series from Magico features aluminum cabinets, nanographene cone drivers, and beryllium tweeters. Positioned between the S3 and S5 models, the S2 is a three-way speaker system that incorporates four loudspeakers and has a weight exceeding 60 kg.
The Magico S2 is constructed from aircraft-grade aluminum, providing remarkable stiffness and durability. It is machined from a solid block of aluminum, resulting in a seamless, one-piece design without any assembly.
This construction minimizes vibration and distortion, which contributes to producing clear and precise sound. The internal design of the cabin is optimized to reduce internal resonances while enhancing structural integrity, all while ensuring adequate damping. For the midrange, the S2 features a 5-inch diameter cone made from an aluminum sandwich that is reinforced with carbon fiber and graphene, a combination that delivers both high strength and low weight. The midrange voice coil measures 75 mm in diameter, is crafted from titanium, and is powered by a neodymium motor.
Two 7-inch woofers with sandwich cones, similar to the midrange drivers, are positioned lower down. The voice coil measures 3 inches in diameter, and these woofers achieve a sound pressure level (SPL) of 109dB at 55Hz when measured at a distance of one meter. The S2’s tweeter features a 22mm diaphragm constructed from beryllium and coated with diamond, powered by a neodymium magnet. This design ensures exceptional high-frequency response, reaching up to 50KHz, and delivers remarkable sound detail. This tweeter is also utilized in the company’s premier model, the M9.
The speaker is offered in six color options and six glossy finishes, resting on a three-legged base. Its dimensions are 395mm in width, 1104mm in height, and 345mm in depth, with a total weight of 60 kg. It has a sensitivity rating of 86.5dB, an impedance of 4Ω, and a frequency response range of 35Hz to 50KHz.
