JBL L52 Classic: Bookshelf speakers with a vintage design

JBL L52 Classic
JBL L52 Classic

Harman International Corporation introduces JBL L52 Classic compact bookshelf speaker systems with the option of wall mounting. The JBL L52 Classic is designed at JBL’s world-renowned acoustic engineering facility in Northridge, California. The vintage design of the JBL L52 Classic speaker features a natural walnut cabinet and Quadrex foam grilles. Beneath that iconic exterior is a speaker crafted from state-of-the-art acoustic components to deliver legendary JBL sound that any audiophile will love.

The JBL L52 Classic acoustics became a development of the series, which previously included the JBL L100 and JBL L82 models . The new L52 is a combination of vintage looks and modern JBL features, but in a small package. The JBL L52 Classic two-way speakers are based on a 5.25-inch mid/bass driver and a 0.75-inch titanium dome tweeter housed in a proprietary waveguide lens. In addition to the emitters themselves, the front panel also houses a bass reflex port and a high-frequency regulator. The manufacturer noted that the speakers can be installed close to the wall. Moreover, on the back of each speaker there are threaded holes for wall mounting.

For the JBL L52 Classic, an amplifier with a power of 10 W to 75 W per channel was recommended. Speaker impedance – 4 ohms. The sensitivity was 85 dB, and the declared frequency range was from 47 Hz to 24 kHz. As intended, the design of the new shelf units turned out to be classic: grills made of the branded Quadrex (black, orange or blue), cabinets coated with natural walnut veneer. With dimensions of 330.2 x 196.6 x 216.2 mm, the weight of one column was 5 kg.
