French audio manufacturer Elipson has announced two new active loudspeakers. The monitor model Horus 6B Active BT and floorstander Horus 11B Active BT are loosely based on the previous passive models and, according to the manufacturer, aim to combine elegant design with audiophile performance. Both models can receive music wirelessly and also have the necessary connections for source equipment.

Both active models boast Elipson’s claimed 2 x 50 watts RMS stereo amplification, an advanced bass reflex system, and high-quality drivers, including 130-millimeter fiberglass-reinforced midrange/woofers (two for the Horus 11F BT) with a cellulose pulp cone and silk dome tweeters, driven by a neodymium magnet. The designers promise natural, accurate, and detailed sound reproduction. This is primarily due to the Horus 11F Active BT’s claimed frequency response of 40 Hz to 20 kHz. The Horus 6B Active picks up at 55 Hz.
The Horus Active BT features a phono input suitable for MM (Moving Magnet) cartridges. This connection makes the Horus 6B Active BT the ideal solution for vinyl enthusiasts looking for an easy-to-install all-in-one system with built-in amplification and balanced audio reproduction. The Horus Active BT also includes an HDMI ARC input for connecting to a television.
The desktop-friendly Horus 6B Active BT transforms any workspace into a compact audiophile space thanks to its USB input. The speaker is instantly recognized by a Windows PC or Mac, enabling plug-and-play simplicity.
Additional inputs include coaxial and optical, both of which support 24-bit/192kHz, and Bluetooth 5.0, which offers aptX HD support.
