French company Devialet is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the iconic Palais Garnier in Paris with a striking limited edition of its Mania portable speaker. Only 150 individually numbered units of the Devialet Mania Palais Garnier 150 Years Limited Edition will be produced, each engraved with the text “001 of 150,” making it a potential collector’s item. This commemorative speaker draws inspiration from the grandeur of the Palais Garnier, a Parisian opera and music hall, and is adorned with a striking crimson finish that pays homage to the venue’s legendary velvet seating and stage curtains.
The anniversary edition comes with an exclusive, tonal-style Cocoon velvet carrying case with a matching strap, gold zipper accents that echo the theater’s opulent gilding, and a playful gold tassel reminiscent of traditional curtain ties. Another unique detail is that the Opéra National de Paris logo now adorns the center of the speaker’s woofer, while the surrounding gold metal ring is laser-engraved with the words “150th Anniversary Limited Edition.” This is the latest in a collaboration between Devialet and the Paris Opera, which has been celebrating their shared commitment to French excellence since 2017, combining cutting-edge acoustic engineering with cultural heritage in a uniquely Gallic way.
Technically, there’s no difference with the regular Mania. Patented Active Stereo Calibration (ASC) with four room-calibrating microphones dynamically tunes the sound to the environment, while a clever cross-stereo architecture with two pairs of full-range drivers ensures a wide soundstage from any listening angle. Devialet’s patented SAM (Speaker Active Matching) ensures impressively tight and clean bass, and a dual push-push woofer arrangement neutralizes unwanted vibrations, allowing the Mania to deliver serious low notes without vibrating off the table.
The battery life is up to approximately ten hours, and the connectivity meets all requirements with Alexa voice support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, Spotify Connect, AirPlay, and the Devialet App (DOS 2) platform. All this results in a remarkably high-performing portable speaker that can fill a luxury hotel suite as comfortably as a living room with immersive, spacious sound, according to Devialet.
The Devialet Mania Palais Garnier 150 Years Limited Edition is now available for pre-order. The first delivery is scheduled for September 2025 and costs €1,800, including the charging station and Cocoon case.
