The SU-1's USB-C input is combined with the powerful XMOS XU316 interface to efficiently process the received audio signal. Combined with the AK4493S DAC, this allows the SMSL SU-1 to support high-resolution audio streams up to PCM 32bit 768 kHz and DSD512.
The SMSL SU-1 is based on the use of a 32-bit AKM AK4493S DAC chip using proprietary VelvetSound™ technology. It allows for high-quality digital-to-analog conversion with low distortion and a wide dynamic range. The result is sound reproduction that is as rich as it is accurate, delivering a wonderful listening experience.
The SU-1 also features an MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) decoder. This format provides very high quality sound, as close as possible to a studio recording, with each file being authenticated by the artist, producer or rights holder. The SMSL DAC also supports MQA-CD.
