Music Hall

Music Hall LLC was founded in April 1985 by Roy Hall. Initially, it was decided that the company would specialize in the production, import and distribution of high-end, high-quality products with reasonable prices. Music Hall players implement many non-standard solutions that were developed under the leadership of the company’s founder, Roy Hall. The first “vinyl” players under the Music Hall brand appeared in 1998, and it was in the work on the design of his own “turntables” that Hall’s engineering talent and resourcefulness were revealed.

The emphasis in production is on two-channel (stereo) components, which is a rarity in these days of iPods and multi-channel systems. Over the years, Music Hall has grown and developed to become one of the leading distributors and manufacturers today. Music Hall makes its own line of turntables in the Czech Republic, in a factory that has a proven track record of 50 years of successful turntable production. All players are equipped with tonearms, cartridges and dust covers before leaving the factory. Electronics are designed and developed in the USA and manufactured under strict controls in Shenzhen, China. The list of these products includes integrated amplifiers, CD players, receivers, preamplifiers and digital-to-analog converters.

The development and design of turntables takes place at the company’s head office in the USA, and Roy Hall manufactures its products in the Czech Republic – in a factory where turntables have been produced for more than 50 years. Hall takes some components for its products ready-made: this approach allows us to maintain reasonable prices for the final products and makes it possible to focus on those moments and components of players that Music Hall engineers consider the most important and responsible for sound quality. First of all, this is vibration isolation of the table from the engine and from vibrations of the surface on which the player is installed.

Many manufacturers in this matter limit themselves to installing the table on spikes or rubber legs, but at Music Hall they solve this problem radically. The table is a sandwich set of several MDF boards made of dense pressed fiber and epoxy resins. Between the plates there are polymer spacers made of sorbothane, a material that has excellent damping properties. Thus, vibration from the floor and mounting surface is completely damped and does not penetrate to the pickup. The problem of protecting the electric drive from vibration is solved much more simply, but also radically and effectively – in some models the drive motor is installed separately from the table and connected to the player, only with an elastic belt. The current line of models includes “turntables” from simple and affordable to very serious, the place of which is in the audio system of the most demanding and wealthy audiophile. In any case, when creating players in the quality/price balance, Music Hall developers focus on quality.
