Mission
Mission

Mission was founded in the UK in 1977 and has always been recognized as one of the leading companies in the field of audio design and in the application of new technologies to create excellent and undeniably praiseworthy loudspeaker systems for every market sector. In 1978, Mission Electronics launched the 770 loudspeaker. This revolutionary product featured the world’s first polypropylene loudspeaker and amazed everyone with its true-to-life sound. After it, in 1979, the Mission 700 loudspeaker appeared, where the now popular “inverse speaker arrangement” was first used. During the 70-80s. Development continued, with particular attention paid to materials. As polymer chemistry has evolved, improved materials and composites have become available. Experimentation with these materials has led to significant improvements in the loudspeaker design process; Lighter, stronger materials are better at tracking small signal changes.

In the 90s of the twentieth century, the Mission company became so strong that it could no longer be ignored. Her name has gained international fame and has become synonymous with high-quality audio throughout the world. Sales grew, investment in developments continued. Series 75, 78 were created, and in 2001 the Pilastro series appeared. The Pilastro line was the culmination of all the previous many years of experience. This uncompromising design represents an ideal in loudspeaker development – a record product that is without a doubt one of the finest loudspeaker systems in audio history. Many of the advances in acoustics achieved through the Pilastro project have been applied to our subsequent loudspeaker series: the E series uses the driver technology and cabinet design of its famous predecessors, while the M series and even the new 790 series also owe much to the research carried out for the project “Pilastro”.

With their engineering approach to product development, the company remains the standard by which other speaker brands are measured today. Thanks to the company’s extensive investment and resources, which include the ability to manufacture every single component of every product, you can be confident that Mission will continue to set the standard for loudspeaker manufacturing. In 2005, Mission became part of the IAG (International Audio Group) corporation, receiving a number of opportunities for effective development thanks to the research and production resources that this holding has. We especially note that today Mission has a full-cycle production facility, i.e. is capable of independently producing all components of speaker systems! Mission’s engineering team is led by Peter Comeau, who has been with Mission since 1999 and is committed to the British company’s classic values and sonic traditions.
