Marantz MM7025: Two-channel power amplifier that will add muscle to any system

Marantz MM7025
Marantz MM7025

he Marantz MM7025 is a two-channel power amplifier that will add muscle to any system and is suitable for both home theater and serious hi-fi kit.

The design of the Marantz MM7025 amplifier favors a discreet industrial design. The device has a metal chassis with anti-vibration properties. The developed cooling system for the output transistors includes a fan installed at the end of the cylindrical radiator, which blows heated air out. The rotation speed of this cooler is controlled by a temperature sensor. The front panel, combining aluminum and plastic, matches the appearance of the latest generation branded components. In the center there is a round display, backlit in blue and reminiscent of the top-end Marantz equipment. It contains LED indicators for the protection circuit (Protect), power and automatic shutdown (APOFF). In the lower right corner there is a button to turn off the display backlight. The standby mode key is located at the bottom of the left section.

Thanks to a large W-shaped transformer, two electrolytic capacitors with a capacity of 15,000 uF, as well as a proprietary LDPS linear power supply, the Marantz MM7025 amplifier is capable of delivering 140 W per channel at an impedance of 8 ohms and 170 W per channel at 6 ohms. The topology of the circuits provides for current feedback, which has a positive effect on the stability of operation and sound dynamics. An additional push-pull circuit is used, similar to the contours of the branded power amplifier SM-11S1. High-speed efficient LAPT transistors are used in the output stages. The circuit design contains selected components – film capacitors, etc.

The Marantz MM7025 amplifier has the following inputs: balanced XLR and standard RCA, as well as selectors for choosing between them (for each channel). There is an infrared port, trigger jacks and connectors for connecting via the D-Sub system bus, which makes it easier to control the tip as part of the Marantz system. There are two pairs of screw gold-plated terminals for connecting speaker systems. The device can be used in combination with multi-channel power amplifiers – MM7055 and MM8077.

The Marantz MM7025 will become a strong link in any system and will help not only enhance its power potential, but also significantly improve dynamics and speed, without losing the transparency of the sound and the three-dimensionality of the stage.
