Gold Note’s Mediterraneo X is the latest evolution in the company’s turntable lineup, developed to mark the brand’s 10th anniversary. Positioned as a flagship model, the Mediterraneo X combines advanced engineering with premium materials to deliver a high-performance analog playback system for audiophiles and vinyl enthusiasts.
Refined Construction and Vibration Control
Central to the Mediterraneo X is its distinctive triple-layer plinth design, built to optimize mechanical stability and reduce resonances that could affect playback. The structure includes a curved Italian hardwood base, sandwiched between a stainless steel core and an anodized aluminum top plate. This combination enhances overall rigidity while helping isolate the platter and tonearm from external vibrations.
The turntable rests on vibration-damping aluminum feet, and comes equipped with a smoked acrylic dust cover mounted on precision hinges—both contributing to long-term reliability and physical protection.
Precision Motor Control and Touchscreen Interface
The Mediterraneo X is powered by a 12V synchronous motor, regulated by Gold Note’s proprietary Quadral-Core microcontroller and audio-grade converter. This control system allows the motor to maintain high rotational stability, with ±0.1% speed variation, <0.1% wow and flutter, and a –82 dB rumble rating.
Playback speeds of 33⅓ rpm and 45 rpm are electronically selectable, with fine pitch control available via a color touchscreen interface. The display also offers access to motor torque adjustments and stylus usage tracking—a practical feature for managing cartridge wear. All settings are saved internally, allowing for consistent performance each time the turntable is powered on.
Included with the turntable is Gold Note’s B‑7 Ceramic X tonearm, a 9-inch unit made from titanium and equipped with high-purity internal wiring.
High-Mass Platter for Improved Inertia
The Mediterraneo X features a 7 kg (15.43 lb) platter constructed from a composite of aluminum and high-density POM (polyoxymethylene). This hybrid design ensures high rotational inertia and effective resonance damping. The platter rotates on a Split-Spindle™ assembly, incorporating a 0.17-inch ceramic ball bearing that minimizes friction and wear.
B‑7 Ceramic X Tonearm
Included with the turntable is Gold Note’s B‑7 Ceramic X tonearm, a 9-inch unit made from titanium and equipped with high-purity internal wiring. It offers precise adjustments for Vertical Tracking Angle (VTA) and azimuth, allowing users to fine-tune cartridge alignment for optimal performance. The combination of the platter and tonearm is engineered to deliver accurate, low-noise signal transfer from vinyl to amplifier.
Connectivity and Power
The Mediterraneo X offers gold-plated RCA outputs, ensuring high-quality signal transmission to external components. A high-grade phono cable is included in the package for easy integration into existing audio systems.
The turntable operates on an 18V DC external power supply, compatible with 100–240V, 50–60Hz mains voltage. Maximum power consumption is rated at 27W.
