Fluance RT81 vinyl player has been updated to + version

The Canadian company Fluance has updated its RT81 turntable to the RT81+ version (in some documents the new product is also called RT81P). The price of the player remained unchanged. The player is equipped with a cartridge, Audio Technica VM95E with an elliptical stylus (VM95 in the first version), mounted on a removable shell.

Otherwise, the design of the player has remained virtually unchanged, except that now the manufacturer’s website says that the new product is equipped with an acrylic mat, whose resonant characteristics are close to vinyl. Previously, the mat was rubber.

The damped disc is made of aluminum and is driven by a classic belt drive from a DC motor. The motor also received three-point damping. Two rotation speeds are supported, 33 1/3 rpm, 45 rpm.

The body is milled from a single piece of MDF. Inside there is a place for a phono preamplifier, which, as before, uses Texas Instruments microcircuits and outputs a signal to gold-plated RCA connectors with grounding. All this is installed on three height-adjustable vibration-isolating legs, and is covered with a folding transparent dust-proof box on top.

Price: $300
