The\u00a0ASUS Vivobook Go E1504FA-NJ640\u00a0is an entry-level laptop that stands out among laptops in its category.\u00a0This brings to the table a better design than we would expect in its price range coupled with a 15.6-inch FHD screen.\u00a0Inside lies a competent Ryzen 5 7520U chip accompanied by 8GB of DDR5 RAM and 512GB of storage.<\/p>\n

If you are looking for a modern and competent laptop in the 500 euro range, both this model and the\u00a0ASUS Vivobook Go E1504FA-NJ311W\u00a0should be on your list of options, and today we will explain why.<\/p>\n

Layout and keyboard<\/h2>\n

Generally, laptops of 500 euros or less do not attract attention on an aesthetic or physical level, but the ASUS Vivobook Go E1504FA-NJ640 is one of the few exceptions to the rule.\u00a0The chassis, even though it is made of plastic,\u00a0meets military-grade durability standards\u00a0, in addition, it borrows some design elements from the Vivobook S14 OLED series and the result is great.<\/p>\n

ASUS also put some effort into the bottom panel, with\u00a0vents that form a \u201cV\u201d for \u201cVivobook\u201d\u00a0and orange feet that contrast nicely with the matte gray plastic that governs the body, which, by the way, provides a decent grip for when we need to carry it in hand.<\/p>\n

The ErgoSense keyboard is another success of the ASUS E1504FA-NJ640, providing a satisfactory touch with the ideal bounce and movement.\u00a0For those who are not familiar with it, it is a\u00a019.05mm keyboard\u00a0that the manufacturer uses in several of its notebooks.\u00a0It consists of 0.2mm concave keys, 1.4mm travel, number keys and what Asus claims is an optimal keystroke ratio.<\/p>\n

For its part, the trackpad is small and is not the smoothest when it comes to sliding your fingers across its surface, but it does a decent job in terms of precision and includes a\u00a0fingerprint scanner\u00a0in the upper right corner for biometric unlocking with Windows Hello.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, we have the\u00a015.6-inch IPS screen with FullHD resolution and 60Hz refresh rate\u00a0.\u00a0We cannot sing its praises, as it is a mediocre panel in terms of color accuracy (NTSC 45%) and brightness level (250nits).\u00a0Likewise, there is a variant of the ASUS E1504FA-NJ640 with a TN panel, which is even worse, since the viewing angles are not up to par.<\/p>\n

The ASUS Vivobook Go E1504FA-NJ640 is a competent laptop for teleworking, studying and consuming multimedia content, as its\u00a0AMD Ryzen 5 7520U\u00a0processor ensures fluid performance in these activities.\u00a0Naturally, we cannot recommend it for gaming or intense graphic tasks, since the integrated Radeon 610M graphics in combination with only\u00a08GB of DDR5 RAM\u00a0are not a very strong combo.<\/p>\n

With that in mind, the internal storage is about\u00a0512GB and type NVME PCIe 3.0\u00a0.\u00a0While that’s a typical amount of space in this price range, it’s fair to complain that storage speeds are limited by a PCIe 3.0 x2 interface, meaning the NVMe SSD doesn’t reach its full potential.<\/p>\n

Changing the subject, the ASUS Vivobook Go E1504FA-NJ640 is powered by a\u00a042 WHrs battery\u00a0that provides an average of 6 hours of autonomy according to the PCMark 10 benchmark, an acceptable figure for the price of the device.<\/p>\n

In another order of ideas, the equipment\u00a0does not include an operating system\u00a0, so we will have to take the time to install one.<\/p>\n

Connectivity<\/h2>\n

At the wireless level, the ASUS Vivobook Go E1504FA-NJ640 consists of\u00a0Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.0\u00a0, while the selection of physical ports is more generous.\u00a0Going into details, there are two USB type A ports and one type C. We will also find an HDMI 1.4 output and a combined 3.5mm audio jack.<\/p>\n
