Today, November 2, AMD introduced the first ever mobile processors with combined Zen 4 and Zen 4c cores. Thus, the company supported the modern trend towards hybrid architecture. We are talking about the Ryzen 5 7545U and Ryzen 3 7440U models, which expanded the Ryzen 7040U series.<\/p>\n

The AMD Ryzen 5 7545U processor has two Zen 4 cores and four Zen 4c cores. The former are an analogue of Intel’s P-cores, the latter are an analogue of E-cores. But unlike the architecture proposed by Intel, AMD’s Zen 4 and Zen 4c cores support multi-threading. The processor operates at frequencies up to 4.9 GHz, and the third-level L3 cache is 16 MB.<\/p>\n

The AMD Ryzen 3 7440U has fewer cores: one Zen 4 and three Zen 4c.\u00a0The processor clock speed is 4.7 GHz, and the L3 cache memory is 8 MB.\u00a0Both models consume 30 W of electricity.\u00a0The graphics are handled by a stripped-down graphics core based on the RDNA 3 architecture – AMD Radeon 740M, operating at 2.5 GHz.<\/p>\n

AMD says that Zen 4 cores in chips with a hybrid architecture are optimized for single-threaded workloads, while Zen 4c, on the contrary, is optimized for multi-threaded workloads.\u00a0At the same time, Zen 4c shows higher performance when it comes to extremely low power consumption – up to 10 W.<\/p>\n
