{"id":173909,"date":"2023-11-02T14:37:03","date_gmt":"2023-11-02T14:37:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.techweekmag.com\/?p=173909"},"modified":"2023-11-02T14:37:03","modified_gmt":"2023-11-02T14:37:03","slug":"magico-m7-new-awesome-and-powerful-floorstanding-speaker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/speakers\/magico-m7-new-awesome-and-powerful-floorstanding-speaker\/","title":{"rendered":"Magico M7: New awesome and powerful floorstanding speaker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In June 2020, the Californian company Magico introduced its flagship M9 speaker systems.\u00a0Everything that was developed in the process of creating these extraordinary speakers is now embodied in\u00a0<b>Magico\u00a0<\/b><b>M\u00a0<\/b><b>7<\/b>\u00a0, standing at the second stage of the company\u2019s lineup.\u00a0The M7 was conceived by Magico founder and CEO Alon\u00a0<b>Wolf<\/b>\u00a0as a more affordable version of the semi-active M9.\u00a0Magico&#8217;s engineering team was tasked with creating a completely passive Magico M7.<b><\/b><b><\/b><b><\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/13_techweek.webp\" alt=\"Speaker systems Magico M7\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>The Magico\u00a0<\/b><b>M\u00a0<\/b><b>7<\/b>\u00a0is a four-way, six-speaker floorstanding speaker system with a carbon fiber and aluminum body and a cutting-edge crossover.\u00a0The new product is equipped with an improved tweeter and midrange speaker, powerful midbass speakers and a pair of 12-inch bass drivers.\u00a0The M7 uses a tweeter designed for the M9.\u00a0This high-frequency driver uses a 28mm beryllium diaphragm with optimized geometry.\u00a0The diaphragm is then coated with diamond using a chemical vapor deposition process to bring the beryllium substrate even closer to the theoretical ideal.<b><\/b><b><\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/14_techweek.webp\" alt=\"Speaker systems Magico M7\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The mid-range driver in the M7 is equipped with a 5-inch diameter cone made of proprietary eighth-generation Nano-Tec material.\u00a0The material consists of an aluminum honeycomb core surrounded by outer and inner layers of carbon fiber impregnated with graphene.\u00a0The improved cone is supported by a new basket design, an innovative foam surround, and a new neodymium magnet system.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/15_techweek.webp\" alt=\"Speaker systems Magico M7\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The 9-inch Magico M7 mid-bass drivers use a new basket design along with an eighth-generation Magico Nano-Tec cone.\u00a0These speakers feature a 127mm voice coil and a magnetic system with dual large neodymium magnets.\u00a0The ventilated pure titanium voice coil frame ensures stable cone movement over a range of +\/-13mm.\u00a0This highly sensitive driver is capable of delivering a sound pressure of 120 dB at a distance of 1 m across the entire operating frequency range.\u00a0The new 12-inch M7 bass driver also uses a new basket design and a Magico Nano-Tec Gen 8 cone.
