via Bluetooth.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/90_techweek.webp\" alt=\"\u00a0 Victrola Hi-Res Onyx Wireless Turntable\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHigh Definition\u201d needs to be in quotes here because no Bluetooth streaming technology offers truly high resolution\u2014they all use lossy compression.\u00a0However, the new products include support for the Qualcomm aptX adaptive codec, which can dynamically scale the bitrate to adjust quality.\u00a0It varies from 279 kbps to 420 kbps for CDs and high-definition music, which significantly exceeds the sound quality of standard Bluetooth.\u00a0In addition, these are among the first products to use the new Bluetooth 5.4 version.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/91_techweek.webp\" alt=\"Victrola Hi-Res Carbon and Hi-Res Onyx wireless turntables\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Victrola Hi-Res Carbon is a higher-end model featuring a carbon fiber tonearm, removable cartridge and adjustable counterweight.\u00a0The included Ortofon 2M Red cartridge provides dynamic and warm sound, and the built-in phono stage, which can be turned off if necessary, allows the player to be used with active monitors.\u00a0The more affordable Victrola Hi-Res Onyx model is equipped with an aluminum tonearm and an Audio-Technica AT-VM95E cartridge.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stereoindex.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/92_techweek.webp\" alt=\"\u00a0 Victrola Hi-Res Carbon Wireless Turntable\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Victrola Hi-Res Carbon\u00a0wireless turntable\u00a0is available in Europe for\u00a0\u20ac699\u00a0and\u00a0the Hi-Res Onyx\u00a0for\u00a0\u20ac499\u00a0.\u00a0Both models are already on sale.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Almost a year ago,\u00a0Victrola\u00a0introduced\u00a0the Stream Carbon\u00a0\u00a0, a vinyl record player designed to work in the Sonos wireless ecosystem.\u00a0Today Victrola announced two new wireless turntables \u2013\u00a0Hi-Res Carbon\u00a0and\u00a0Hi-Res Onyx\u00a0.\u00a0They&#8217;re not certified to work with Sonos, but they do support streaming music in &#8220;high definition&#8221;
