The company claims that\u00a0”\u00a0the lens will provide excellent optical performance throughout the zoom range with guaranteed edge-to-edge sharpness<\/i>\u00a0.\u00a0“<\/i><\/p>\n
As with most of Tamron’s new lenses and as the product name suggests, the 17-50mm f\/4 Di III VXD uses the company’s eXtreme-torque Drive (VXD) autofocus system, which the manufacturer claims “provides fast,\u00a0accurate\u00a0autofocus\u00a0“<\/i>\u00a0.<\/p>\n
When zooming, the physical dimensions of the lens do not change, allowing you to maintain the same balance regardless of the focal length.\u00a0This means that the lens is especially well suited for use on a stabilizer or similar equipment.<\/p>\n
Tamron says the new lens will have a minimum focusing distance of 19cm, which will allow photographers and filmmakers to get close to their subjects.\u00a0However, the manufacturer has not yet specified the magnification factor.<\/p>\n
